Jim’s information technology services career began in the 1980’s as a senior technology engineer at EDS, servicing large systems development efforts at large telecom clients. After spending 9 years progressing from senior technology leadership into account executive leadership at EDS, Jim founded the technology services firm Emerald Solutions in 1997 and grew it to over 100 employees in 3 years before selling the business (2001) to the private equity backed technology firm SBI Holdings, Inc. He integrated the firm into SBI Holdings and was CEO and President of the Corporate Performance Management and Integrated Marketing divisions of the company. While there, Jim led the acquisition and integration of over 20 public and private firms into the enterprise and built the eventual business into a $200M entity from 2001 to 2006. In 2007, Jim sold the Corporate Performance Management division to another services firm, Enterpulse, and was named President and Chief Operating Officer from 2006-2008. My favorite part about Cartesian is the emphasis on growth. The team has prioritized my professional development through a built in mentorship program, and by providing opportunities for me to exercise skills from data analysis to policy research. As my first post college job, I could not be happier about both the work and culture!

Stefano Pedrazzi

Since joining Cartesian, I had the opportunity to learn how to leverage advanced analytics to solve telecom companies’ strategic challenges. The workplace culture of Cartesian is collaborative and rewarding. Everyone aims at supporting your professional development every step of the way.

Barry Eeles

Barry has worked with Cartesian over the past eight years as an associate and has recently been brought onboard as a Senior Consultant. With over 25 years’ experience within the telecom sector, including 21 working within the industry, he has specialized in operational transformation and the delivery of large, complex programs. Working with enthusiastic and professional colleagues that share a common vision of providing the best, most innovative services to our clients is the best part of his day.

Martin Beattie

Senior Consultant

I have worked with Cartesian over the past 14 years, firstly as a customer receiving excellent quality people to help deliver my projects and then as an associate myself and now most recently converting to an employee, as a Senior Consultant. The projects I have worked on have been large complex projects and all part of a larger programme of work. These have significant impact to the UK public and carry great importance with each deliverable. Most enjoyably, I get to work with an excellent team of professionals who get the job done.

The time I spend interacting with my colleagues to solve problems for our client, is my favourite part of the day.

The new office location is near a vibrant street food market so it is possible to eat excellent food, reasonably priced, from all over the world on our doorstep. In one week you can cover multiple Asian food styles (i.e. Korean, Japanese or Chinese) and South American styles (i.e. Brazilian & Argentinian) along with traditional BBQ food, British Roasts or Spanish Paella and much, much more…

The Cartesian culture is an ethical one, aimed at delivering value for our clients, whilst we grow the business. Through all of this we have a supportive team and we aim to have fun along the way.

Lauren Sheppard

I’m proud to work for Cartesian, working every day with experts in telecommunications who understand client needs. The most positive aspect of the ‘culture’ is the coaching and mentoring behaviour that is present in interactions with all levels of management.

I decided to work at Cartesian because of the work culture that is offered. Everyone on the team has been very supportive of each other from helping bring newer hires up to speed on the work being done to lending a hand on a project they may have had experience with previously. It has created a collaborative environment that allows everyone to grow their skills and learn.
