Programme Management

Our programme managers have experience leading initiatives for clients taking on transformational change in the telecommunications sphere.  Whether it’s launching new telephony offerings, augmenting existing services or developing and implementing cutting edge NGN offerings, Cartesian’s programme managers have the experience and skills necessary to bring together multiple project streams to deliver a coherent and effective programme of work.

Project Management

Most of Cartesian’s work is on projects, from the very short (days) to the more substantial (24 months or more). Unsurprisingly, we have learnt a lot about project management over the last 12+ years, including that there is no one optimal project management methodology; each project necessitates some up-front consideration as to the best approach.

Cartesian has invested time, effort, and intellectual capital in the development of a highly adaptive methodology to project management that takes into account project deliverables, budget, size, and length amongst many other factors. We apply the principles of this methodology selectively, whether we are managing a wholly-contained in-house project, working with a Cartesian project team on customer site to deliver a Cartesian-run workstream, or coordinating delivery and managing project challenges using matrixed client and third-party resources. 

Planning

Planning is a critical part of every project. Cartesian’s experience implementing the Ascertain product suite since 1999 allows it to create plans that will be achieved and yield business benefits on schedule.  Additionally, Cartesian’s experience with a variety of other telco products and vendors allow us to engage in confident and accurate planning.  When it comes to planning, experience of general systems integration is not enough.  Cartesian’s detailed knowledge of the specific issues and pitfalls unique to telco projects is essential to good planning.
